Hidden Gems of Dubrovnik Beyond the Old Town

Most travelers experience Dubrovnik through the Old Town, but stepping outside reveals a completely different city. My favorite discovery was Lapad. The promenade feels local, relaxed, and full of small bakeries where mornings start slowly. Sunset here was quieter than anywhere inside the walls. Another gem is Mount Srđ at sunrise, not sunset. Almost nobody goes early, and you get the view completely to yourself. I also found Buža bars — small cliffside spots where you sit above the sea. It felt less like a tourist attraction and more like a secret. Dubrovnik becomes magical when you leave the obvious path.
